Basically what the topic says, I want to update the sticky some more and add new info. I know there was stuff that Cinny sent me but I had lost it due to having a virus.
What would the ECOTEC fans like to know more about? What can I possible research on and find. This could include pictures, blue prints or whatever. Need a certain part #? Need more places to buy ECOTEC merchandise?
Suggest anything and I'll see what I can find and I'll keep you guys posted as to what I add to it.
FYI, I already worked on the Turbo section some more.
What you guys think?

I think all sticky's should be removed. All this info should be put in the library. That is just my opinion.

NJHK I have seen quite a few people asking for wiring diagrams. That might be a good thing to add.

How about some more info on automatic trannys. i bought a stall converter for mine. Is there places that make "stronger" parts for them? What about Trans coolers? and specifics?
Also I did a little looking but is there any page that show ALL the differecnes in the ecotecs from 02-05? What interchanges what doesnt what is differnt?
Thats my input for now.

I was talking to excidum about getting some stuff writen up for a MS sticky. if people knew the potentioal and affordability of it could really help the eco world imagine a stand alone for around 300 dollars capable of everything the flash gives and so much more when I found out how amazing it was I almost @!#$ my pants. I wrote up some stuff ill give it to you to do what you see fit if you want PM me.

That's actually already in there.

I actually linked the setup and install to Rodimus's site and it tells you how to do everything and what parts you need.
The E-manage & SAFC-2 hook up the same (except you would ignore the area that says for ignition hookup for the SAFC-2 because the SAFC-2 has no type of control over the ignition system). That is also already listed on the sticky.
The Megasquirt install...I can't really list as of yet till I fully understand how it works. It's not as simple as an e-manage because it's more involved and because it's a standalone fuel management system, not a piggyback.
There is a link on the sticky to how to install a basic nitrous kit already.

I listed places for an torque converter on the sticky already. As far as other transmission internal parts, there really isn't any place out there that can do it upon request, it would have to be custom made as far as I know. I'll look more into it.
I know a place that sells a transmission cooler but you can generally use a traditional oil cooler as an transmission cooler.

If he could do that...that would be great

As far as the megasquirt goes, I wouldn't limit its inclusion to only the ECOTEC platform information, as its a universal system. It should have its own sticky if anything, and that information should be confined to the specifics of getting the system working on a j body. The website already has way more than enough information for using the system itself.

Well I never wanted to exclude this information to just the ECOTECs but basically make a full guide of what people can and can't use. Just like how I list exhaust systems, any 3rd gen J-body can use the same exhaust system but I was listing it anyways so someone who doesn't know but owns an ECOTEC can read this and get an answer.
If you were to do a writeup in another thread, all I would do is link it, that's all.

It's hard enough to get people to and read the stickies in the forums as it is. How many of those people do you think will take the extra two or three clicks to read something in the Library or FAQ? I'd think none...but I could be wrong.
I will totally agree with you (dang that is weird). At the same time how many people do you think use the sticky's now? I personally think they are a joke. Most comes down to opinion, than fact. Like said in a different post, we have a BIG lack of prrof on most mods for our cars. Lack of dyno's etc..... Then of course you have the ones who just think they are right on everything, and if it goes away from what they believe you are wrong.
This is a forum, for posting questions, pictures whatever related to our cars. Just let the people post for what they want, because they do it anyways. I agree the part number should be able to be found (in the Library).

There might be what you call a lack of "proof" because you don't see dyno sheets but there is plenty of experience at hand. I for one help alot of people out and give advice according to what I have done myself and also people I know personally who have done something and have educated me on personally. I mean, you don't need dyno proof on every modification...even if someone did dyno every modification, it doesn't mean that this person will get X amount of HP gains from it.
If someone asks me if I had any problems with camshafts after the installation and if I had any gains, I can tell them that fuel was an issue and I noticed some gains...all just personal experience, not really opinions.
I disagree that not everyone reads the stickies. I think that there are plenty of people who do read the stickies, heck, even I read my own sticky if I forgot a certain fact. I think most people personally think that no one reads it because there are some questions that people have that could be located in the sticky and those select few make threads asking those quesitons that could be located in the stickies cause honestly, they didn't know any better or they did look but didn't fully understand something and wanted more details.
Anyways...that's getting off topic...this thread was to help add to the sticky, not to give opinions of if there should be stickys or not but I understand how you feel.

You are right. I also give advise off what I have done myself, or had experience with. I still get plenty of you who disagree with me. I think what I have done proves it's self. My car is one of a few all motor J's in the 14's. I do think there is a reason for that as well.
You are correct back on topic.
