Just wondering....

I've decided I want more torque in the 2500-3000 rpm range, and I can't remember if the 4-1 or the 4-2-1 header was better for this.

And since I'd want to install the header I buy... does the whole engine have to come out to put one in, or can I work around it?

And (last one), with motor/tranny mounts, how hard is the install? Would I have to put a jack underneath my engine so it doesn't sag down when I take the stock ones off?

k well about the header i don't know whats the difference but no you don't have to take the motor out. there will be a heat shield and that's like i think 3 bolts and then the exhaust man comes out with like 6 or something. might be alittle tricky if your only on jacks though. and for the motor and tranny mounts do one at a time and yeah if it's only the weight of the motor just lift it and keep the motor in place with a car jack. on the oil pan. it won't hurt it.

2003 Cavalier, all is said in my profile.

Does the 4-1 sacrifice any low end? Is it all around better?

If anything is lost on the low end its more then made up in the top end. Go 4-1 pacesetter armor coated.

I was thinking it was the 4-1 I was looking for. Now that I'm thinking about it, what seperates low and high end. 3k rpm? So the 4-1 would help me out a lot from 2500-3000 while I'm cruising around?

What do you mean, why do you need more power when cruising? You will start to feel the pacesetter around 3500 and up on the eco.

On the interstate, it doesn't seem like my car wants to go when I hit the gas at around 75mph. Or going up hills on the interstate, it sucks because I have to really mash the gas to keep my speed up sometimes. I just want it to be quicker on the interstate without having to downshift.

We call this a lack of torque. Get a turbo.
