Is the Ecotec valve cover sealed with a rubber or paper seal?

So if I take that valve cover off to anodize it I won't have to buy a new seal?

any time you remove the valve cover, replace the valve cover gasket.

I fht evalve cover gasket is in good condition, you can reuse it, however its a better option to just replace it, less chance of haveing future problems.

when I pulled me off to do cams I didn't replace it, but then again the car had liek 10K miles on it, its been on and off a few times but never took it off the actual valve cover, first time it comes off the valve cover I will replace it

if its in good condition why replace it. the valve covers come off the el camino about 3 times a night right now while im running at the track. solid roller setup, cant keep the lash to stay put, kinda annoying. but if rubber is good, reuse it. It should not give you any problems.

the ecotec's gasket (rubber) is cemented onto the valve cover.
So if you take off the gasket, I would replace it.

power gains from solid rollers are wonderful, but you are right, the valve lash adjusting can get annoying. that's why i prefer hydraulic roller. then again i'm used to street car vs purely track car.
