well i had to change mine since the alchol kit took up the space where the old air box was... and damn after seeing how restrictive that old bong thingy was i think it would make a difference even if you had a hole in it...

It seems that if you had holes drilled in the bottom of your air box all you would be doing is drawing in hot air from the engine bay. Even with the bong removed.
that plexi glass was there to stop bug and rock and or stuff from beating up your filter. and hydro lock. come up. you have to drive into a puddle that was up to your front bumper. and i don't think any of you guys a dumb enough to drive thru puddles with your car slamed. driving thru puddle at stock ride height is just fun. i know you all do it. maybe not in your show cavy. maybe in you mom's car. but you do
well even with my set up now i cant go threw puddles....
