No one can say for sure i mean ive heard of people snapping stock rods with just a 55 shot of n2o. Im spraying a 75 shot on my stockers but im going to buy eagle ones soon to be safe.

if you are wondering whether you'll snap them or not, then just buy the eagle rods. no point in wimping out if you have the suspicion that they could possibly snap with whatever project you are planning on doing.

well..i did'nt dyno the thing yet, but i assume it makes near 150-160 HP in N/A tune

it's got about a thousand milles now and seems fine, but i was just curious if i should take the engine back out to install eagle rods or just keep it like this !! they'll cost me 500$cdn + gasket kit + one week of work to rebuild the thing again....

this is crap...i didnt tought it would make soo much power

^^ ok what have you done to it to assume those kinds of numbers?

I built my engine with Eagle H-beam rods, and I dont have any reason to worry.

I'm officially calling BS on your 150 whp N/A OHV. Sorry but... nope. And even if you WERE putting down 160 hp... you wouldn't need to worry.

150 whp ?? ...i just said 150 hp... whis should be more like 125-130 whp

why i assume those kind of numbers...

first, Z24's staying behind me

2nd, 11.8:1 compression ratio, 1.6 roller rockers with 1995 cam, ported head, headers with free flowing exhaust, air intake/w K&N, polished pistons and combustion chambers, TR-4 plugs, MSD coils and wires, and...that's about it!

3rd, the butt dyno sais so!!

BUT, as i stated, i only assume it has near 150-160 hp...i never said i was shure of these figures

I'd like to hear more about that 1995 cam...since people have said it doesn't work...

unless you're running a 95 computer with batch fire, its impossible to use a 95 cam as it does not have the timing sensor near the middle.

(96+ = SFI)

my car is a 1995

but it had the notch for the cam sensor ...probably been rebuilt already...anyway, cam lobe changed with the rest, in 1998 so a 1996-97 cam should work with the 1998+ cars. i've measured a 1999 cam and compared it to the one i have ... te 1995 has a bit more duration

Dan Cotter put down a little bit over 230hp and around 240 ft lbs torque on his stock internal turbo 2.2 ohv.

275hp & 306tq - 1999 2.2 ohv
13.2 @ 108 mph
-1996 2.4 liter + Turbo + Built motor + Torco + More boost = Lots o' Power
-2000 Mustang GT + 2004 Cobra motor, Whipple 2.3 supercharger,
built rear-end,Dodge Viper spec T56 6 speed, bolt-ons = wheelies at the track!!!!!

Um so, how many headers you got on that 2200 of yours, and actually the 2200 2.2L is the 98+, the 2.2 prior was different and not refered as the 2200. and 1.6 rockers came with the real 2200, some of us are in the process of doing a 1.71 ratio swap.

??? just one header !! sorry for spelling, i'm bad at french so dont ask me to be good in english!

the reason i mention the 1.6 rockers is cuz my car is a 1995

P.S. a lot of peoples are in the process of doing stuf... but just a few peoples actualy finish what they start !! i did the best i could for the least $. it costed me just under 400$ CDN for +- 150 HP.... tell me when you're done!

LOL. YOu haven't gain 150 hp, your up to 150 hp, if that. I suggest you re dyno your engine/car/thing, cause I got most of my parts on discount, New, and put down just about 140 hp at the wheels, and im breaking all sorts of suspension components, and some valve train parts, for about $1500 USD. BTW, im speaking of NA, and without pu$$ie fuel.

So why are you stopping @ 150 hp anyhow?

Re: 2200 rod resistance ??

well you know....it's really easy to spend 3000$ on parts and dont have more power than stock. you could spend 15 000$ on an engine and have only minor benefit if done stupidly!

By looking at your cars specs, i dont really see why you should have more than 5-10HP over stock anyway !!

Suspension components dont necessairly have to do with power...

I'm stoping at 150 HP for a few reasons...

first, for overall reliability
2nd, driveability and fuel consumption (i do arround 40 000km/year)
3rd, money...i did all the mods i could that are time consuming and not money consuming. I did'nt buy any "performance" parts eccept header and filter

the cost of my engine is baicaly the cost of a 2200 head from the salvage yard + arround 25$ of material for port & polish + header + arround 250 hours of time. Of course, i changed more parts inside the engine, but this was not for performance, it's cuz the engine was total scrap...no performance parts were bought for the internals, just cheap stock replacements that needed a change anyway.

Hey LMR, why don't you just get off they guy's back? Stop being so nitpicky...he's already said it was an estimate (and I think just about anyone would agree that it's probably pretty close). Also, when he's skimping out on money building the engine, why would you think he'd drop the cash to put it on the dyno? He's obviously not out to set any power records...
And correcting grammar...c'mon...are you an Englitsch professor or something?

I just think it'd be nice that before people start modifying their cars they at least know what the hell they are talking about and when they get onto a website where their posts will be looked at... they at least try to sound like they have any knowledge whatsoever. I mean... "headers with free-flowing exhaust"? WTF? You could just have easily said "Pacesetter header with 2.25" catback" and I wouldn't think you were a tool.
