you know, for the price of performing an LS1 conversion, you could build a 10 second LN2 with a completely forged crankshaft and rotating assembly, solid everything, and lots and lots of boost.

I just sold the LS1 outta mine....

With the fabrication to get this done, it would be a TON of cash. Be cool though.

could you still run the stock transmission or would you have to switch to like a 4t65 that was in the grand prix?

for an ls1 conversion.. i may be wrong.. but no way will it work with the stock tranny. youll need alot of custom work, and probably be installing a tranny used in cars with ls1s.

As cool as it would be, you're better off just going and buying a 98 or newer F-body... cheaper, you'll probably save enough money to turbo your car, lol
Re: LS1 conversion

Like everyone said...too much work and fabrication and money.

In my opinion, there is no need to put a v8 in our cars. If you have the money to buy a v8 and fabricate it to actually fit, than you could easily turbo your current motor and even work the internals to push some great times. Also, people don't realize the maintenance afterwards and how everything will be even more expensive if something does happen to it because it is bigger. I bet if something did happen to the v8, no one would want to touch it because it's not supposed to be in your vehicle.

Sorry to sound negative but just trying to give you a reality check.

okay true true. yeah it's going to be expensive but i want to be different. and i cant fix up my current motor b/c it sux and it's way to old. and NJHK yeah i know about how it's going to be more expensive for the fact that i have to buy twice as much stuff such as spark plugs etc. but thanx for the reality check.

Evansville j-body.. if it peeves you...i dont kno if u kno this or not...but u dont have to reply. but hey... ur still a nice guy.

so bout these motor mounts for the 3800... who is it that makes it?!!!!

Ok RWD and V8 swap into cavy Easy :

1. Find a mid 80's f-body with v8 and rwd.

2. Removed the the body.

3. Attach the body form your CAvy on the frame with V-8.

4. Cut, bend, remved, build and weld where needed.

5. Remove Old V-8 and place new new LS1.

6. Enjoy power slides.

there easy right..?

not sure if its been said but HOW THE HELL DO YOU PLAN ON GETTING A LS1 IN THERE?

The hood alone on our 02 T/A is like a mile long... and there is no space in the engine bay of a jbody as it is...

Man i know i sure as hell wouldnt go threw that pain... id either drop like 10 grand into the engine in the car and boost it... or just go buy a 98-02 F-body...

The First Twin Charged jbody
blue car (R.I.P) - 240whp @7psi..
silver car - 305whp 315lbs.tq @15psi (91 Octane) or 420whp & 425lbs.TQ @20psi (94 octane+Alcohol Injection)
All dynos run on a Mustang dyno

look up v8-archie.. they make v8 kits for fiero's (RWD but mid engine so fwd tranny). id would say your best bet would be to contact them and see what they can do for you. you MIGHT be able to get it to work with some effort.. might..
