Ok I was talking to my stepdad who knows a pretty good amount about cars and he said I could put twin cams on my 2200. Now Im not sure if that is possible so I thought I would ask all you smart ones on here. Also if I could would it open up more hp?
Its not gonna happen unless you get a completely different head for your engine which would be a pretty expensive or tough custom job. It's probably not even worth considering, the money would be better spent on other mods.
the biggest part is that the TwinCam and 2200 are two different motor designs, the TwinCam (for example) is a DOHC, while the 2200 is an OHV motor, big difference in valve setup.
This kind of thing would be much more possible with a SOHC engine

2200 is a OHV with rocker arms and push rods...Twin cam is DOHC. Two entirely different engines! Can't be done

Honestly, I think in this case it wouldn't even come down to being a "custom" job...it's just not possible. The design of the motor are completely different, even the piston is in a different location (higher up in the motor).
