Please Help!!!

I'm not sure if this is in the right forum, didn't know where else to put it. If so, mods could you please move this for me? I tried searching for the answer to my problem but came up with nothing, so maybe you guys could help me.

I have a 96 Z with about 100,000 miles. When I start it up it idles at about 1500 rpms. Then after about 2-3 mins, whether it is just idling or if I'm driving it, the car acts like it wants to stall out, like it isn't getting any fuel. I can put the pedal to the floor and nothing happens. It will spit and sputter for a couple seconds, then run fine. It will only do this after cold starts. Then when the engine is warm, she idles at 1000 rpms. Something just doesn't seem right here. If you guys can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

I have a simmiler problem. I have a 97 Z w/144000mi on it but the motor only has about 35000mi. When I start mine it will idel fine for about 30-45 sec. then it tries to stall out. If you try to drive it it will spit and sputter UNTIL you put it to the floor then it runs better. If you hear anything let me know.

Thanks
Royce

Try some fuel system cleaner could be clogged injectors or something like that could also be something clogging the fuel line or fuel filter or it could be an o2 sensor... just a couple ideas your more likely to find the answer in the maintanance forum though.

I bought some injector cleaner tonight, maybe that will help a bit. But it just seems like it is something else to me. Any idea why it idles so high, both cold and warm? Any more help is appreciated. Thanks.

If a can of Sea Foam doesn't help it, replace your fuel filter. fuel filters are cheap
