Tornado - Gas Saver?

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried anything like this? It looks pretty simple, but does it work?

Some of these auctions claim it works wonders?

Here's the auction .. what do u guys think?

first of all:
"The Turbo-Intake will cause the air to rush into the carburetor like a tornado."
"The Turbo-Intake only works on fuel-injected automobiles"
hmmmm.....

Do they work? Some brands have been proved to work. But they had extensive engineering on their side. This one is made in some guys garage.

I have one of the expensive ones in my car. It think it might have made a change in fuel economy, but it was too small to really be sure. But the idea behind seems to make sense. You can give it a try, since it's only a few dollars, but don't expect a "30%" increase. I'd think 5-10% increase in efficiency would be more realistic

You know, when the Tornado came out years ago I looked it up, and found that it didn't work in testing. A year later, when it hit the shelves at Pep Boys, I was like WTF and looked it up again. Still didn't help.

I don't understand why this thing proliferates if it's been proven repeatedly to NOT help. Someone explain that to me,

Good Marketing and gullible people who don't do research and just believe what the see and/or hear in the ads.

Its called marketing... and if you think about what they say it would make sense if you knew nothing at all about cars. the swirling of the air mixes the air and gas better..... in theory it makes sense agian if you know nothing about cars.....

They make money the same way that I score with hot chicks.

Falso advertising, lots of fake testimonials and put it in a pretty package.

what really ticks me off is 2-guys garage had it on their show, saying it will improve gas mileage.

Then again, i've pretty much lost all respect for 2 guys garage, the entire show has become a paid advertising program basically.
