Well i'm probably going to be getting me a pacsetter ceramic coated header and a high flow cat, though I have heard that with this combination the check engine light will come on. I have heard that the problem occures from the second 02 sensor behind the cat...and I have heard to solve the problem all you ahve to do is take the 02 sensor from behind the cat out an plug the hole and hang the sensor up somewhere under the car. Is this true?
it depends on the cat you use , it has nothing to do with the header
im using a OBD2 certified cat , and havent had any problems
my o2 fitting for the o2 that reads the cat is in the body of the cat it self
same setup as 97 cav, 02 sensor is in the cat, but havnt had it installed yet with header, so cannot tell you what will happen for sure.
I have the armor coated header and a magnaflow 94035 cat, haven't had any problems.

There can be problems with the secondary O2 sensor getting odd readings. It generally depends on what conveter you use. If you use one that is CARB certified, you shouldn't have any problems. If you use one that isn't, i.e. a race cat, the catalyst it uses may not be effective enough to keep emissions within the ECU's default parameters. The best solution if you get a trouble code with your cat is to plug an O2 sensor into the harness in place of the sensor. You can get one from Caspers Electronics. Jegs did sell them, but I'm not sure if they still have them or not.
I have the that setup and no check engine lights for me.

that's a really popular setup so you can't really go wrong with that cat.
Cool I'm in the process of getting all the parts and I'd hate to get a cat that doesn't work on our cars.
