Does anyone make a 4340 forged crank for the 2.4 engines?
Mantapart or J-Body Performance.
The jbp forged cranks are all for the 2.2 eco motor and Mantapart only had 2.3 forged cranks and I'm not about to pay $3200 for any crank. You would think with all the gazillions of 2.4l engines around that Scat, Eagle or someone would come out with an economical 4340 forged crank for these engines.

They would if there is a demand, but there is not.
Just like the 2.2/2200, it i one of the most produced engines ever, and there i no forged crank for it either, just no demand.
Even it it was made, not many people would fork the dough for a 1K crank.

I just sent an email to Ohio Crankshaft expressing the desire and need for a reasonably priced 4340 forged 2.4L crank so I'll keep everyone posted on the results of this. Because I don't believe I'm the only one who wants an economical forged crank in their engine, not with all of the cars that this engine came in.
cant you cryotreat a regular crank?

You can send your crank to them and they have balancing and knife-edging services for a very fair price. My crank will be going to them
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
As stated not many would be sold. Maybe if a company has started in the early life of the 2.4's would have been worth it, but with them not being made anymore, and the Ecotec taking over, it would not be worth it. Also if you do your research the stock crank can take the power your going to break. I think I have heard of only one every breaking.

Ok cool I will get the jbp knife edged and heat treated crank, I guess coming from a sbc background I just prefer the piece of mind of an all forged bottomend. So the stock crank can handle 450 -550 fwhp?
You'd think with the main demise of 2.4's (at least in my experience) being a spun bearing which ruins the crank 9/10 times, there would be a market for an economical replacement crank. If anyone knows where they can be bought, outside of Mantapart and JBP, please post.

Crower can have them custom made for $2500. I had a post a while ago to see if anyone else would go in for a group for the LN2s, but there was no interest (at least not positive).
