Need your opinions
Sunday, September 18, 2005 12:07 PM
Hello all, I need your opinions on something. I (sadly) have an auto 2200 cavy with only an intake, and 104K miles on this car. After getting beat by a f'ing soccer mom in a blazer in a drag race (Which I didnt know was a race until she floored it when the light turned green) I have decided that this will happen no more, and that I need to go faster.

Unfortunately, I don't have all the money in the world. So boost is out of the question, and nitros... well, I'd like the engine to NOT blow up. So I'm looking at an all engine setup.

So, here is my plan for the time being, and you guys can tell me if I'm stupid or not, lol. I plan on doing the following:

Deleting the cat + stock resonator, and adding in a glasspack that my friend has (which I believe is 2.5", not too sure about that though). After that I planned on chopping off the stock muffler and welding on a decent sounding aftermarket exhaust tip (or fart can, if the word suits you better)

Well, that's about it.. The only cost would be the aftermarket exhuast tip, and the labor to pay the people at the muffler shop (seeing that I have no equipment or knowledge to do it myself).

Laugh if you will, I probably would too if I were you, but after you're done laughing give me some opinions or suggestions.

You'll be lucky to gain 1 hp with those things done like said before do the entire exhaust get a header and read up some more so you dont waste the little money you do have. Find deals and listen on this site alot of the advice can save you big bucks in the long run.
