Hey i was searching and found the link to ny-jbodies.com and they say that to install the 1.6:1 roller rockers you have to install all new studs and and push rods. is this true ? if so what else is required to install the roller rockers?

well the studs are def needed, your stock rocker arms are one piece.... what would the new ones mount to??

pushrods arent, but might as well.

i dont think you will see a full 10HP from just the rocker arms.

Maybe a solid 5 but i dont think youll see much more, but if thats the only mod your doing then the best way to see for sure is to do a dyno run before and after the install and see exactly what gains you get.

Also, if you have a 98+ 2200 and the JBP rockers dont come with the rocker studs, order a set of Comp Cams rocker studs for a 97+ LS1 V8, they screw directly into the head with no mods needed, and the rockers will fit the studs perfect.

You will need part number 4554-1x 8 pieces, and they are available directly off of Comps website for 5 bucks a stud, and there shipping is very resonable.

If you have a 95-97 or older 2.2, you will need studs for the 60 degree V6, 2.8, 3.1,3.4 engines, there are a 10mm bottom, versus the 98+ 2200 8mm bottom and both studs have a 3/8 24 top thread. And Crane has the right studs part number # 99148-2x 4 pieces. they are priced 25 bucks for one piece of 2 studs, and are backordered thu summit, you may be able to get them direct from Crane.

The Crane ones are alot more expensive than the Comps, but im not sure if Comp sells a stud for the 60 degree V6, they dont show one on there website, atleast i couldnt find one.

www.cranecams.com

Hope that helps you out.

are you sure you are looking at the right rockers? Because I don't think there are Comp Cams rockers for the 2200.

Summit Racing can get the '97 & older studs from ARP(part # ARP-100-7221, 2 ea) for $11.69 or the '98+ studs(part # ARP-134-7221, 2 ea) for $12.99. It takes about 2 weeks for them to recieve them. These are less expensive than the Crane or Comp studs, and every bit as reliable.

Correction on the rocker stud sizes. the 98 head had a 10mm base. The 99-02 has an 8mm base. I have the 10mm studs for the 98 head is anyone wants them.
