whats up guys?
i had a funny event happen the other day when i was detailing my engine...
well we put a plastic bag over the air filter so water doesnt get into the filter and we started up the car as we were washing off the degreaser, and the wierdest thing happened. my engine ran better than ever before with a plastic bag over the intake.also my air/fuel gauge worked perfectly fine as well. the a/f gauge stopped working after i put my header and o2 simulator on. also thats when the car began to lobe. i have mild bolt-ons, intake, header, exhaust, motor mounts, nothing extreme. but i was thinking maybe my o2 sensor might be bad? also when i take the plastic bag off the a/f gauge reads rich. completely rich. i wonder what it could be? if you guys could help out thatd be sweet.
thanks
ken

i don't think it was loping. i think it was running like @!#$ because you had a bag over the air filter...

actually my point was, it was running better with the plastic bag on the air filter. then when i took off the plastic bag, it returned to what seems to be lobing...

it shouldn't have anything to do with the air filter considering the A/F gauge reads off the o2 sensor. I'd think it would go completely rich when you begin restricting the air going into the motor while it is trying to run normally. More fuel, less air = rich. Not to mention stock ECU tunes are rich enough already.
Replace your o2 sensor.

yeah i had the ecu replaced and reprogrammed last year after i did a motor swap. but, that would make sense if its the o2 sensor. maybe even look into performance chip upgrade?...
btw thanks for the help.
