AEM alternator pulley and Unorthodox Crank

I FINALLY GOT IT DONE haha, but the question is, do i keep my stock belt? I heard somewhere that if you got the alt pulley and the crank at the same time it should be the stock belt, but now that it's all done it doesn't wanna go on. Do i keep this belt or what?

If it's an underdrive crank pulley, yes you need another belt. If not, no you use the stock belt.

If it's the same size as your stock alternator pulley than you shouldn't have any problems.

So it is 2 inches smaller than your stock alternator pulley?

It seems like its the right size, but i cant get the tensioner loose enough. I took it off with the tensioner tool, but now it seems like i can't get far enough back to loosen the tensioner enough, any suggestions?

Get a better angle if you can.
Use the long breaker bar and 15mm wrench head/socket......well you know.

The stock belt goes on with the combo.
I have it.
Event helped me to get the whole set up on.
And actually getting the belt back on wasn't too bad....just get the angle on the tensioner.

And since you have a manual, you should have charging problems like me since I"m auto.

Ok, the tensioner is definetely acting alot different now, it's not holding any tension. Has it gone bad? If so, what to replace?

Ok, makes sense now with this info. Before I thought they were both smaller than stock.

How in the f&^% do i do that?

Well,
From my understanding, you're gona have to rip into that side of the car.

NY jbdoies has links to do all that.

Just go to the library section, under the 2.4L cam swap.
Then they link ot directoins for intake/exhaust cam removal, from there timing chain removal including tensioner etc.

Not a simple job unfortunately.

Guys, Guys....If you have the unorthodox pulley AND the AEM pulley, the stock belt is the size you need. the tensioner is not bad. We have never had a customer state this didnt work on this same setup. Try just a new stock belt maybe the old one is really streched out.
Having the unorthodox pulley smaller and the aem pulley bigger, the difference of each one makes it use the same length of belt.
Also make sure you are on the right side of the tensioner, and that the belt schematic is the same as stock.
Let me know if you have any questions and feel free to email us!

Is your tensionor not getting the full range of motion?
Or does you belt just not fitting on there like you think it should?

The way you're describing it, seems like the tensioner itself is whacked.

I think this is definetely whats going on, but i'm not sure, i heard someone mention the tightness of the tensioner nut?

Heres whats happening, i'll get the tool on the tensioner, and start to crank it towards the back of the car, about halfway up, it gets easy as hell and flops right over.

Is the tensioner nut just not tight or something? If so, how do i tighten?
