head work

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but since I'm doing performance work, I figured i'd try here.

Just in the process of reassembling my motor, and wondering what everyone else is using for head bolts. I have the option of a GM sourced head gasket, header gasket, and head bolt kit, or to go with an ARP head stud kit.

Has anyone gone to a head stud on their eco when reinstalling their head, or is everyone just going with bolts.

thanks

The bolts are good for most applications, but the studs are more consistant in thier torque. The stud are stonger too, but you have an aluminum block which the the bolts/studs thread in to. BTW if you ever reach pressures that would strip the threads in the block, you would have some more serious problems than stripped threads!

one thing i was told on my engine, if you ever plan to redo the engine, remove the head to upgrade or change things, head studs might be worth the cash to ya...

or like said above, if you are gonna do the high pressure deal.
