I just bought the Oct issue and there's an article on a Saturn Motorsports turbo kit for a base eco Ion.
They used a piggy back ECM kit from Perfect Power called EMC tuner. Anyone ever heard of it? The article makes it sound like it is quite a nice piggy back system.
Fifth and/ or sixth injector control, plus cotnrol of the stock injectors and timing.
The Perect Power site shows nothing.....yet......
It's called EMC tuner... if you find any links post them..
I searched the database and found nothing here, thus the post.

I read the same article and am seriously considering buying that unit. Only issue I see is that you need a lap top to use in conjunction with it, and I currently don't own one. I'm not sure if I'd call it a piggy-back setup, though--it's more like an advanced programmer.
Alright...I'll bring this back from the dead!
I emailed Perfect Power USA to ask if they had a package for the 2002 Ecotec found int he Cavalier and here is the reply:
"Yes, The SMT6 will work on your application. You would need the SMT6 EMC User Package $389.41 US, 2.5 bar map sensor $98, and a Pre Configure for 2002 Cavalier, $75.00."
So, guess my question is this...will this thing work? If so, would this be about the same as HP Tuners? Also, based on the article in GMHTP, it states you only need to correct the "areas that need attention" vs mapping the entire system! If no one has heard of or used it then guess not much can be discussed huh?
Will HP Tuners require mapping the entire system?
Anyway, thought I'd throw this out there again since I couldn't find any other topics other than a few post but nothing went beyond "yeah, I saw it!"
Thanks.
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
why is this post not in BOOST
I did a search and just brought it back...but yeah, BOOST would be the place to have it!

One last shot at seeing what everyone's opinion of this is. Scanned in the article so in case you don't have an issue laying around you can just read this one.
Just wondering what this might do for turbo guys and the Ecotec or even if the GM supercharger could benefit from a program like this? Maybe HPTuners will be better?
Nice thing about it like I said above, total mapping is not required with this as only the areas that need some attention, as stated in the article.
Anyway, thought I'd share one last time since it is the weekend and more folks seem to be online than during the week when it was last up. Click the thumb nail to get the BIGGER article since linking the actual size of each page would have killed most folks! Thanks.
