Having an auto isn't the worse thing in the world...

It depends what kind of money you want to spend and what kind of power you want to put down.

What kind of power do you want and how much are you willing to spend?

As far as money I am willing to spend what ever I need too. I am not rich so course the cheap ones can happen sooner. I am sure you have gone through trial and error with parts so I want to learn what worked and what you wish you never put money towards. Power part the more the merrier (this is a daily driver) you have seen what I currently have done what would be my best next step to gain the most power for the least money.Or do I forget the minor stuff and save for the supercharge or turbo? I would be thankful for anyones help.

Torque converter (some on ebay cheap right now) if you're into drag racing. Throttle body wouldn't hurt (just not too big). If you want to get down and dirty, how about a ported head and some cams?

Well I would be glad to answer your question but I need to know what kind of power range your willing to run or atleast 1/4 mile times your looking to run to give you an idea of what to do.

That would help but it would only do so much. It is a nice upgrade, just a pretty penny to do that type of upgrade (my estimates were around $900 for parts and labor).

Yup. The problem is that most people don't take the time to do research about autos or save enough money to build them up. Little do they know that they can make their auto more efficient than an a manual with the proper upgrades...

I would do it but I'm broke lol

Pretty much you'd have to replace everything in the transmission. Take it to an transmission shop and they will give you an estimate for better parts.

What torque converter do I use? If you would send me the auction on ebay or just let me know which one I need. bean69vw@yahoo.com

I have an auto. when I drive I often go to myself or to the car "come on, you've been in this gear long enough, move up.. please"

would "B&M shift" be a solution? I have no idea what that is

Torque converters are usually custom made to whatever application and whatever upgrades you have. If you have a turbo setup and your running a certain time and you tell the company/person this, they will build you a Torque Converter to the specs you need and to the driving routine you have (daily driving or pure track car).

That's sad you talk to your transmission j/k

As far as the B & M shifter...what it does is increase your line pressure so that you shift faster & harder into the next gear instead of having a sloppy shift BUT it does not change anything as far as how long your in the gear. Basically it just helps your shifting efficiency.

Yeah, it would be a bit handy when you get those upgrades. I would also invest in some motor mounts to prevent your motor from jerking from the hard shifts. With an header, it would also prevent your header from moving and possibly having other exhaust components hit certain areas of your vehicle.

You can get those pretty much anywhere, they are very affordable. Go to www.carcustoms.net for a set (free shipping).

On the ECOTEC motor, I've done research and found that our timing is just about right and no need for cam gears untill your highly modified. Even then, I'm sure the gains are small.

A torque converter would be much more benificial to you. Helps you put a little bit more power to the ground and you can rev higher on a launch.
