Yes officer I knew the speed limit was 50
I know when i tried to align the cams on the eco, that was a pain in the arse. It took around 8 dozen times of rotation to get them to line up. I had gotten them to line up a few times prior, But for some reason i did something wrong each time and it became 1 tooth off.
“Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that’s even remotely true."
Yeah that seems to be how we are doing it but its very time comsumming, we have to finish his cams and get mine done and mine arent even started so its gonna be a long day tomorrow again. Just looking for any extra advice also does anyone know an easy way to get the part of the side engine mount off that is attached to the side engine cover? we had a hell of a time getting that off any tips please...lol anything helps!!

The first time i messed with cams i had a lot of trouble too, but the first time will be the most difficult.
Since this is for a 2.4, i dont know the timing mark, but i assume you know them.
First, make sure it is at TDC. Stick something long down the first piston. Rotate the crank with the bolt and when the thing you stuck down is at the highest point, you are at TDC. Look at the crank and make sure make sure the mark on the crank is in the right spot. Put the new cams in with out the cam gears.
Thats easy. Now find the marks on the timing chain. Place the link on the crank. Take the gear for the intake and find the correct mark. Put the gear on the cam. Now most likely it wont just go on. It is keyed to fit in one way. Take a wrench to rotate the intake cam so the gear will go right on. Put the bolt for the gear on with your hand. Take the exhaust gear and do the same thing.
I know this isnt the fastest way, but this way you will know its done right.
I think this should help. My screen name is EcotecFire i can help with general things, but i really dont know any specific things about the 2.4
Side engine mount? EH? You mean the big mounting plate for the upper mount? Those bolts are always a pain in the butt... every motor I've worked on (ok, only three now) is tight as hell.
When I did my engine, I cleaned off a link on the timing chain, then marked it with paint... noting which mark was for which cam and the crank... that way, I knew damn sure the chain went on EXACTLY as it came off. Saves time later.
