Demand for more?Testing Water 2.3 HO adapter Plate
Wednesday, July 20, 2005 9:36 AM
Well now that I only have 9 left I am wondering if I should order more from the machine shop. For those whom dont know, These are 2.3 HO adaptor flanges to allow you to bolt up the 2.3 HO or LO intake manifold to the 2.4 Head. The only modifying needed to be done will be to the 2.3 Manifold which consists of slotting out and elongating specific holes. The adaptor Flanges are made of high grade Phenolic material, a much more expensive non heat transfering material which will keep incoming air/fuel cooler for better performance. For what you are getting it is a bargain you will not find any where else. Percision CNC machined, will save time money and better performance. The price is only 55$ and are ready to ship.

My question is, will there be a demand for more after the remaining 9 are sold, I am not a business so can "stock" them.

Thanks
Chris

Have you sent the one I ordered? I sent you the money overnight last Monday evening, you should have had it Wednesday. I included extra so I could get it quick, but I've yet to get any replies to the emails I sent you and the messages I left on AIM...

Well if I can get mky camera to work I may be able to shoe it installed on the cyl head.

I have Chris's and Exploited's garolite version.
The Exploited is on the HO mani on the car. Will use Chris's the other HO mani I have here.

Neither are perfect. But Chris's matches the ports a little better.
The piece is nice, thick and sturdy.
And most importantly....he has them available NOW.
So I recommend it.

Shifted - I recieved payment Friday at 4:30, and I shipped it out on monday at 7:45am. You should see it either today or tomorrow at the latest, I emailed you when you sent me your info (Because you forgot to put it in the letter) and said you would see it shortly. If not today then tomorrow at the LATEST.

MyLife75, whenever you get it to me thats fine, I will put one aside for you. Let me know.

Mastin, Thanks for the words and if you can get pics on the head that would be sweet. And in addition to what you said, I think mine is like 22$ Cheaper.

Thanks
Chris

Nick, Yes, money order or checks, 60$ USD and I sent you an email.

I just need to know if anyone else is interested, I also need to know if more are needed to be made, I want to help out as many people as I can, but only make like 10$ on each one, lol.

I have been considering getting one. What I would recommend is when you get down to 4, then consider ordering more. I would always try and have a couple laying around. This is one of those things over time will sell many.

From my other post:
Those interested/thinking about getting in on the intake adapter flange for the HO/LO intakemanifoldswap on the 2.4L form "Fontana Performance" <img src=/images/smiles/wink.gif height=15 width=15> here are a few pics.

Pic of the 2.3 intake gasket on the head gasket let as is
<img src="http://registry.gmenthusiast.com/images/neomas77/pic3.jpg" border="0" />

Now of the flange:
<img src="http://registry.gmenthusiast.com/images/neomas77/pic11.JPG" border="0" />

Finally of both together
<img src="http://registry.gmenthusiast.com/images/neomas77/pic4.jpg" border="0" />

The flange and gasket are not a perfect match. But they are pretty darn close.
And the flange itself is of very good quality and good choice of thickness.

TIPS:
For the swap, ideally you want ot port the intake manifold AND the intake openings on the cylinderhead. As you can see, there is a bit of space on the head you can port downward if you like to. Ideally.

But some folks don't port at all and have no problems. So however much work you wanna put into it, its up to you.

Thanks to Chris for the flange hardware.
I think he has a few more left.
