hey I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with an A/F Ratio gauge actually its not really the gauge its the message being sent to the computer I think. I hooked mine up last week and at first the when the car is warming up its fine in open loop mode but as soon as the the sensor heats up and my car is warm and in closed loop it spits and sputters and I think it is signalling to the computer that it is very rich cause the exhaust tone dies and you can hear the intake taking in its last breaths loudly before it cuts out like a hissing sound... well it used to do it all the time in closed loop mode but now I moved the position of where the gauge ratio sending wire is and siliconed up the wire and now it only does it as soon as it gets into closed loop or when the sensor is up to temp so when Im driving and that happens I have to floor it for it to run. It will do it for either 30 seconds and up to maybe 2mins rare that it will last that long but I dont like it either way any suggestions or info is appreciated thanks.

Did you solder the connection? Could also be somthing other than your gauge. Mine was misfiring and i changed out plugs and wires and she runs like a champ now.
your o2 sensor is baaaaaaaaaaad.

so far that has happened with 6 of the 8 or so cars I have seen a O2 gauge in lately....... they complain of stuttering and stalling as soon as the car warms up.
Unhook the gauge, problems go away. Even tried brand new O2 sensors, Bosch and AC/Delco.
Not sure why its happening.... didnt happen with my '02....... but my buddies 98, another 98, a 99, a couple '01's......... all the same problem

where did you guys hook up the signal wire to? in between the conecter and sensor or in between the conecter and computer?
I had the same problem a long time ago.The ground wire for the gauge was loose and made the car run like crap.Check your ground wire.

where exactly are you all hooking the guage up at?

you splice in between the connector and the computer so if you change out your o2 sensor, you don't have to do any rewiring other than unclip, install new sensor, clip back in.

I too installed mine the way the diagram says
I got the coughing sputtering, I even got backfiring happening!!
the son of a bitch is on her 3rd o2 sensor and still occasionally sputters.
Once this NTK o2 sensor gives out, I'm going for an AC Delco.
Perhaps that will solve my problem once and for all.
Stupid a/f gauge, you suck
