Ecotec Throttle Body

I had a question about the bigger bore TB for the ecotecs or any of the engines for that matter, does it increase gas mileage? and will there be more of an aggressive sound to it, not that i might hear it over my exhaust.
Any info thanks!

The sound you'll probably notice is it might make your intake sound a little louder as far as when you hear it sucking air in....really it's nothing that noticeable. If you have an full exhaust upgrade, you really won't notice it.

As far as gas mileage, I didn't notice any difference. It's worth the buy and won't hurt you as a daily driver.

Mine kinda sounds like a blow off valve, it's very quiet (the blow off sound). Made the intake seem louder, nothing with the mileage.

Fire Fighter, I don't think you should mention the words "Blow Off Valve" in describing the sound. That might mislead him to think he will have that type of sound. I've heard loud BOVs and quiet BOVs...doesn't sound like either to me.

Pretty much like I said before, might make your intake sound louder, you'll hear air entering and might hearing a slight sucking noise when you let off the throttle. If you have an exhaust upgrade, it's going to be harder to hear this noise but you might if your just cruising.

In my case.......definately REDUCES gas mileage as I always find myself pushing the pedal to the metal....more often.

One thing about getting more power...you want to use it more often, hence, using more fuel. After a while, you'll get used to it and how to balance when to stomp on it and when not to.

Love the sig NJ, I am going to be gettin a 62mm one in the near future to add to my whole setup, since thats about all I can do now for more airflow.

That, electronic cutout for racing, then its to go inside the motor...

Usually if they are talking to me they say "NJ" or "NJHK" or "Honda Killa" or something of that nature.

I think if he was talking to you he would have said "Jersey Kid"...I think you knew that DJ

It's alright though...lets go to Hooters!

so does it sound like a BOV because there is a leak? If its whistling is more air getting through? I mean would there be more power to be gained if it were solid? Cause i'm really REALLY wanting to get one, just gotta save up a little more. Any advice or stats or anything would be appreciated.
Future Upgrades are Throttle body and pulley, so anything on pulleys would also be cool. I mean i know there isn't much to tell about pulleys, but different views on underdrive and OEM size, and what kind of times would i be expecting with i/e/short throw/pulley/TB/lowering springs, and on top of all that, what kind of kills, hehehe
Thanks~!

Listen, don't pay any attention to the "BOV" comment. The reason he said that is because when you let off the throttle, you can hear air, that's it. Like said before, if you have an exhaust upgrade and your stepping on it, you won't hear anything. When your cruising, you might here it better. Get the TB, it's a good upgrade and worth the money.

Pulleys are good also, they help accelerate better and you'll notice your RPMs move a little faster. As far as underdrive or OEM. If you have some mega big system, don't get an underdrive pulley. An underdrive pulley takes power away from other accessories but they are still functional. You can still use your A/C and any other options. While your driving...you won't even notice it. I'd suggest underdrive...I have it on my daily driver...no problems.

As far as your times question, there is alot that plays into times...tires, weight, driving skills, launching...no one can give you a time, sorry.

If you get lowering springs, get straight springs not coilovers. Check out either the Eibach Pro-Kit or Sportlines. For more questions on this, check the "suspension & brake" forum.

Good luck.

Depends...

Pro-Kit Springs - Best to use is KYB AGXs

Sportlines - You can get away with it like me but you won't have them working for that long...get Konis
