I've been on the org for awhile, not as long as some I know, and have still YET to see someone attempt this. With lots of $$ and time it can be done yes. But honestly just buy a RWD car if you want one.
There was yellow cavi on ebay not to long back with a supercharged 454 and that was definaly rear wheel drive.

i've seen it done on a yellow 3rd gen and a white 1st gen..if you do a search in google you should be able to find the white 1st gen. Both were V8 swap's and RWD conversions. imo its worth every dollor, ppl on here are just judgemental when someone posts about the possibility for rwd on a cavy. they instantly reply that its not worth it. Well a built up LD9 turbo'd pushing 350whp..with the pimp'd up body kit/paint..along with the whole custom interior...would be a lot more than converting a cavy to rwd. Sure many ppl don't have a pimped out cavy thats pushing 350whp..but it just takes 1 person on the .org to plan/build the rwd cavy and soon enough ppl will be coping that idea. Just like when cavy's were getting boost/nitrious...few where even thinking/dreaming of the idea, but wouldn't wast there cash on a cavy when they can build up a 3rd gen camaro for the same price and gain more. Yet now lots of ppl are running boost/nitrous
a small block chevy swap is much easier to do with first and 2nd gens, but it can be done on a 3rd gen. first one i saw was one night i got passed by a black 2nd gen on the highway with a moderately stock 327 / 700R4
