I just got some 2.25 inch piping run at the local muffler shop. He took out the stock resonator and I had him use a magnaflow hi-flow cat. now when I really get on the gas it gets real high pitched and sounds really bad. like a broken exhuast? Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Would a new muffler with silencer quiet it down? or would a resonator be better? please help, thanks

The sound quality isn't because of the piping. Your exhaust and the way it sounds all depends on the resonator & muffler. If you have a canister style muffler, I would suggest getting an oval style Magnaflow or Borla muffler. They flow well and sound deep.
As far as resonator, since they took it off, that makes a huge difference in how your car sounds. I would say buy a Magnaflow resonator (a decent size one) and it have it installed. By time your done, a smile will be on your face and bye bye raspyness

one more question. Where will the resonator be installed? will it go in front of the cat where the stock one was or will it go behind the cat? there may not be room to put a 24-27 inch resonator?

http://www.magnaflow.com/04sound/04sport.asp this iste has the sounds of exhausts from different vehicles. I want mine to sound like the cobalt 2.4 sedan. you can listen to launch, drive by, or in car. Will this resonator help get this sound?
