K&N Typhoon or AEM CAI

Does anyone have either of these intakes on there ecotec? If so, which is the better choice?

the Typhoon is actually a short ram setup, which would be easier to service I'm sure, also safer from water and dirt?

Ok, I think I am going to go with the K&N due to the fact that it will stay under the hood, and the filter will lay in a nice spot, plus it comes with the Clutch res. Mount.

Does anyone know where I can find the best price for the kit online? I have found it on autoanything for 204.95 before shipping, but I am really looking for free shipping and perhaps maybe theres a better price out there. This is my first Mod for my ecotec!

I found it there for $184.90, and I think shipping is 6 bucks or so anywhere in the US. You check it out for yourself. I have yet to order it from there, but I plan to in the near future. Hope this helps.

I have the K&N and couldn't be happier, I got it for 180 shipped here in the U.S. It was a simple install and is designed really well.

I only wish they made it in plastic, similar to the OEM plastic, for heat and sound purposes. But, im going to order mine in Blue, because I think I will wind up doing a blue accent under the hood. The car is black.

Works wonders? You dyno'd higher HP with just a OEM replacement filter?

I got the typhoon just because I like to play in puddles... Mine was off E-bay for like $175 shipped.

either way it's 6 of one 1/2 a dosen of the other... basically it doesn't mater which intake you get, anything is an improvement over stock

I personally would get the AEM off ebay or something, just buy from a reputable seller, sounds about the same price. Unless you do alot of mud running etc I have a weapon r intake and am gonna be selling it shortly for my new AEM CAI just think it looks better in the bay and, well for me a plastic TB adaptor is much better to add nitrous
