Also i should ask if it was on a dyno jet or mustang dyno, and if you have an auto of a 5 speed.

a mustang dyno will read about 20% lower... because it's more accurate in all honestly. i have helped install an in-ground awd mustang dyno and from everything i have understood about their configurations, they are the absolute most accurate dynos on the market.

I put down 138.9 and 148 tq on a dyno jet. I had intake, TB, 2.3 pulley, motor mounts, and muffler on stock exhaust piping.

Before My Build I was miserable on Mustang Dyno, the car had 87k miles and was in desparte need of something. In a stock GT 98 Sunfire it was 115WHP and 122 Tq. That was the day I called JBP lol

JBP Built 2.4
250HP
230FT
Dont race

My old '99 automatic SunfireFire SE put down 138hp and 146lb and I beleive it was on a Dyno Jet All I had done to it at that time was a AEM intake magnaflow muffer and an AEM alternator pulley.

The car was one of those so called factory freaks though, I averaged 15.4 in the quarter with the those same mods, Although my trap speeds were @!#$ averaging 84-85 due to the 23.8" dia tires I run, lol.

a factory freak is just a car that was broken in properly.

122.53 hp and 131.56 ft/lbs tq on a dynojet with ho manifold, ho TB, and an ebay intake. So if i would have ran on a mustang dyno, using that 20% im making 98hp, and 105.25 ft/lbs. My car is a 5 speed 97 Grand Am, and ive run a fastest time of 16.1 with the same mods.

Why the heck does the sunfire manual say that the 2.4L's come stock with 150hp? I'm confused as to why they would write that.

Thats the ratting at the crank, not at the wheels, you lose anywhere from 15%-20% depending on what tranny you have when measuring at the wheels, so if you add 15%-20% to your dyno run your will get around 150hp

So im thinking ether the HO manifold swap is worthless and hurt my performance, or theres something wrong with the motor.
