Has anybody ever used this and does it really work?
What calculator? Want to post a link? There are some that are very accurate, and some that are not. You want to use one that is based on trap speeds and weight, not ET and weight.

doesnt seem very accurate to me....

i think theres too many variables to be accounted for but it would give you a rough idea of what kind of horsepower youd be making.
It *roughly* worked out for me.

Sweet 169 flywheel horsepower. lol
2700 vehicle lbs
My Car
that is obviously junk. So I have 149 whp on my stock sunfire. woopdidoo. 2700 lbs and 89 mph trap speed
15.891 @ 88 mph stock, still getting @!#$ty launches...
It's way off, it's saying I make 259 WHP, which I know to be way high. I have a better calculator, but you need to sign up for the message boards to be able to use it.
Here it is.

it did a close count to but you need to remember that the wt. of the car needs to be closer if you put in new rims or body kit the wt. of the is different.
Any of these calculators assume pretty much perfect gear ratios, perfect launches, etc.
They are usually decently close, but you also need too know the exact weight. A lot of your cars are heavier than you think they are. So, if you got off the track, and weighed it (the big tracks usually have scales), you will know. you really can't go off the curb weight.

yeah that calculator sucks... aparently i have 30 less horsepower than i am actually pushing... And my buddy has a nissan stock at the wheels 150 hp and the calc said 85 at the wheels...
i dont see how u can use it to calculate FWD hp when it is giving you results for a car with RWD
