exhaust problem

i put the cat back single muffler exhaust on my '04 cavi. and its makin this hellacious popping sound when i stop accelerating. does anyone know how to get rid of that damn pop.


another question i have is about the high flow cats. is it a good investment? how will it do as far as performance and sound?

first, you don't have a catback. you have a single weld on muffler. a catback is a muffler and the piping from your catalytic converter back. if you want to get rid of the popping, get yourself a long long resonator, 2.25" diameter, and have a custom catback made. Highflow cat won't do you any good for an 04, there's nothing wrong with your cat and it won't make any differences over stock for now. Most people believe there really is no such thing as a high flow cat... but I wouldn't be able to tell the difference because I haven't ever had cats on any of my vehicles. Boost > cat *.

i know what a catback is. i have one. i just meant that i have the single muffler instead of dual, but thankyou for your reply

ah ok i understand. i would still go with a resonator. it will quiet down your exhaust, deepen the tone, and that raspyness / popping should go away.
