ok, i searched around and found nothing on this topic. so, would i benifit from putting on z24 injectors on my 2200? i have about eevery bolt -on and this is one of the last engine mods that i will do for a while due to i am chnaging out the whole suspension (d-spec, sway bars, strut bars, tie bar and some brake stuff). if not the z24 injectors then which ones would do the job if any..

thanks

there would be no benefit. the stockers should be fine for a stock engine with bolt ons so long as you have made some effort to get more fuel outta them with a fpr or a piggyback of some sort. depending on the mods that may not even be necessary. unless you have alot of spray, boost, or serious internal work (compression cam ect) you wont really benefit from an upgrade. i am not to familiar with the 2200 / 2.2's but i do believe they use a completly different type of injector then the 2.4 ones and cant be swapped. someone correct me if im wrong here but arent side feed injectors on the 2.2 / 2200 ?

I did a search on injectors and I came up with a replacement part number from Holley 522-54, ran it through Jegs. and it came in at 81.99 did not say for 1 or 4. Anyway the thread was from May i think and it talk about a top feed conversion on a 2.2 and then somebody mentioned that these injectors would work on a 2.2 non ecotec and their rated at 24 lbs. more or less. Do search on top feed conversion or injectors and it should come up with what I read. Emailed Holley to find out more on this injector.

the 2.2s up till 97 had side fed, and 98+ 2.2 2200 have top fed like the 2.4s. However they changed the injector style again on the 2200 in 2001 or 2002 and ARE compatable with the 2.4 #24's

well after a day of driving with the #24s my ecu is running them just fine with no codes at all, I think it just took time for the ecu to learn.

^^ Yep, the ecu will adapt to them.... Hell the 04 eco ecu can almost fully adapt 440cc injectors, so the slight difference between stock 2200 and stock 2.4 isn't a big deal at all.
