Ok. I have a Magnaflow 2 1/4" hi-flow cat and a Magnaflow muffler. I am going to have a shop bend me some pipe for this. My question is what should I bee looking at to get next, an intake or a header? Logically it seems I should be looking at a header first, but I feel that I will see more of a difference with an intake. Any sugestions? Also, what header would you suggest? Thanks.

pacesetter 4-1 coated header....imo

Intake mani or CAI?
Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?
get the header. ceramic coated is best.

Header... More air in doesn't do any good without getting more air out.
intake is going to do the most for the money. imo, getting rid of more air doesn't do anygood unless more air is there to get rid of in the first place... cai will probably get you more of a mpg boost too.

It goes hand in hand really. The debate could go either way. More air in and normal air out can cause back-pressure in the engine, which is not a good thing. Also, with the little amounts in changing intakes in a 4 cylinder is probably insignificant.
Back pressure this, back pressure that... What about exhaust gas velocity? My suggestion is to get the intake first, then header. You'll notice a better gain initially from doing that. Also, get a 4-2-1 header after you get the intake. The 4-2-1 header works more for giving you added torque, which will help you for low to mid range power. After that, you can port match your intake manifold, which will work on mid-high range power.
Id say get both. First get a pacesetter header (best for the buck), and then go on ebay and get an intake for about $30. 99 % of intakes are all the same. Just metal tubing with a cone filter. So a $30 dollar intake would work about the same as a$150 intake.
well since you have the cat and exhaust you might as well get the header...
then get an ok intake.... you don't have to go AEM if you don't want to....

I'd suggest getting the header first so when you take everything else to the exhaust shop to get welded up you can get it all done together and don't have to deal with getting your downpipe welded to your cat later on.

basically either side isnt gonna benefit till intake and exhaust is done so it really doesnt matter.
if you dont have more air comming in, then a bigger header and exhaust just makes more noise....
if you have more air comming in, then a stock exhaust is the weak point.
so really doesnt matter what you do, just as long as you do em both.
intake is cheaper and will make about the same amount of power as just a header, but the two together will yeild even more power

Finish your exhaust system then go to your intake.

Thanks for all the replys. You guy's pretty much stated what I figured, one without the other isn't gonna help the whole system much. I am getting my exhaust done July 5th, so I am going to look and try to order a header to have by then. I am looking for a 4-2-1 header. What would you guys suggest, and where could I get it for a good price? The two that most people talk about are RK Sport and Pacesetter,

i;d say go with the pacesetter 4-1 long tube version...
its the best of both worlds (4-2-1 and 4-1)
