question about stainless cat-backs???
Friday, June 10, 2005 10:04 AM
My girl has an 04 LS sport and we want to buy a stainless steel cat-back exhaust system for it. Just wondering if anyone has some good recommendations. We would like something that would give some nice gains, but nothing that's really loud. We would like a nice sound, but don't want it to sound like a civic with a fart can. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanx.

Borla is what I have and it is everything you and your girl is looking for....its awesome.

I know its pricey but you can get it from a J-body company on here much cheaper.

good luck

Why dont u go custom exhaust system way cheaper than buying a pre-made exhaust plus u could put a muffler u want example= hks, apexi,dc sport, etc.

I don't wanna do custom because it can get expensive for stainless, plus I plan on installing it myself, and I'd rather just buy a kit that already has HP numbers, and people already know what it will sound like. With custom, you'll never know what it will sound like till it's on the car. thanks for the ideas though, and I'm still open to suggestions.

It'll sound different on every car you put it on.

I know it'll sound different on every car, but you can still get an idea of how loud it will be. Yeah, I'm thinking of the RK sport single exhaust, but a resonator might be more custom work than I wanna do. If it was my car that would be one thing, but it's my girl's, so I just wanna buy something and throw it on right quick.

magnaflow sells a 14" resonator (the 1 my friend used) , and its made to slip over 2 1/4" pipe on both ends , so you can clamp each side after you cut the pipe to fit everything

basic tools , and cutting tools needed

also it would be best to weld it up , but you can do 98% of the work and have a shop do the rest

the pipe from my cat to muffler was $127 including tax and labor. Also the welding to the cat and muffler I already had.

s there any difference between the bends on a 2.4 as opposed to the 2.2 from the cat back.....never compared them but they should be the same right......

nobody around me has a mandrel bender and 2.2 catbacks r cheaper than 2.4 catbacks

thanks
