Hey guys ive had my 2000 Z24 cav since Dec 99' ive currently got 59k miles on it i know the first scheduled tune up isnt till 100k miles but almost 6 years without one still seems like alot even with low milage. should i get one done anyhow to play it safe and this gonna sound like a newbie question but whats involved in a tuneup besides plugs filters and whatnot?

Plugs, plug wires, air filter-those are essential
And then like 99 said check hoses and belts and top off your fluids

I root for the underdog...figured I might as well be one

Change trans. fluid - 30k (filter if auto)
Lube chassis - 7500
Inspect brakes - 30k (rears every 60k)
Change PCV - 30k (if have one)
Inspect air filter - 3000 (replace if dirty)
Induction Service - 30k and/or 60k (at a shop using a pressurized system)
Radiator flush -30k and/or 60k
Inspect plugs & wires -30k and/or 60k

The 30k and/or 60k is for lazy or some who don't wanna throw money out every 30k.
If you don't do it every 30k; must definitely do every 60k. Of course this will cause excess wear on parts than doing every 30k.

I do it every 30k, but I have access to the service equipment

you almost have to have a logbook in your glovebox of every time you check and replace stuff like that because the increments are all different and what not.
