So I'm going to do the 3800 swap. Swich my car over to a manual tranny, the purchase of the tranny has been lined up yeah yeah yeah... We've been though this.
I have a few quetsions with the swap, engine itself really.
The SC 3800 comes with the actual complete engine, manifolds, oil pan, timing belts and covers, fuel injection components, and supercharger of course. This is $1200. The price doesn't so much bother me... on a few conditions.
I'll need a starter as the one on my 2.2 is going to be WAY to small.... would one from the V8 caddy northstar work? Should hook right up right? Let's hope. I can nab one for 50 bucks, just need to know if it can work.
A/C compressor, can I use the one from my cavy? This would actually be Ideal.
man I know I'm forgeting stuff :S.
Ecu, I can get one for 19 dollars, but it's a 94... would it still hook up right to the 98 harness spliced with my 2001 cavy harness?
My alternator will work cause I don't run any sound system.
Ok guys, help me out on what else I need. It's late/early and I'm not thinking to well.
