ok, so you'd be buying piping

on a cheaper note... go find a good exhaust shop and have them bend you up some pipe. it would be MUCH cheaper.

^^^ What he said

Make sure the shop does mendral bending, not crush bending. Also, rksport setup might sound "ricey" because it has no resonators and it comes with canister style mufflers. If you get 2 1/4" piping, magnaflow resonators, you should be alright. Honestly, I have never heard the HKS muffler before but if it's canister style, it will more than likely sound like pretty much every other canister style muffler, which is high pitched.

most shops that i call don't have the ability to do mandrel bent....

most shops use what is called compression bends which allows the pipe to retain it's circular shape but it still makes the circle smaller in the bends. though still better than crush bends by FAR, it will not retain the full diameter the whole length of the exhaust.

honestly, a 2.25 compression bent exhaust with good components would still be a GIANT leap compared to stock.

That's why he would need to contact a Performance shop. Most performance shops have a machine for mendral bending.

Check out Weapon-R's header, it's a 4-2-1 style. I have a picture of it on my car in my profile, runs great and performance was good also. You can good a good price at www.definedparts.com

does the weapon-r header have a flex pipe?

Another reason for going to a shop for a mandrel bent exhaust line is that you won't cry like me if you have to put a resonator on (they had to cut about 20" of my catback to put a resonator) We learn from our mistakes....

If you want your exhuast to have mandrel bends just buy a Pacesetter exhuast and put your muffler on instead of the one that comes with it...

grrrrr, i hate when people say that "cannister style mufflers are high pitched" , thats because of no resonator. I had a no name brand "type r" cannister muffler with a purple hornie resonator , and it was no where near high pitched, it was very deep. I got alot of compliments.
Here's a pic of the muffler.

Actually they do TEND to be more high pitched because of the way they designed. If you get for example a magnaflow oval style muffler and yours without resonators you'll hear the difference. By the way DJ, I have no resonators...how does mine sound? Oh and my piping is 2 1/2". You can thank my magnaflow mufflers for the deeper tone.
