header question for my grand am

alright, I have the 2.4l in my 99 GA I have heard mixed opinions of jbody headers working on my car. it would seem that there would accually be more space in the GA so there wouldnt be any problems hitting anything. I have seen headers such as pacesetter and OBX on ebay that are around $150. are these any good. Also the motor mount and insert of the jbody do not work on my car (i've tried) my upper mount is the exact same one that is on the GA's with the 3400. and there is no lower dogbone mount. The reason I speak of this is I have heard some people saying that the mounts are needed because of the increased rigidy of the new exhaust and having so much movement is not good for it obviously. If anyone could shed a little light on this subject for me it would be greatly appresiated

yours is the new body 99 g/a correct ??

pacesetter part # 70-1274 is for the 99-02 2.4 grand ams , the only difference is the o2 sensor location , between it and the cavalier header , because of the rear trans mount

Bingo, I have the Ecotec PS header. Don't be fooled by the huge amount of space back there, it the firewall it has to clear as it bends under the car, I think I have about a couple inches of clearence.

I would suggest mounts as the movement is pretty big, even tho there is a flex joint, I'm gonna get my mounts soon. Get the header, with the blower on my car, it made a very nice improvement.
