alittle package from fidanza, and some prothane parts....My new flywheel, clutch and tranny mounts are finally here, i've got pictures but no host so i'll post some up if anybody knows a good hosting site.
Does anybody have experience with the fidanza flywheels? the paperwork says i may need to balance the flywheel and clutch assembly, does anybody know if this is neccessary since i'm using a spec clutch and a fidanza flywheel? also do i just use the factory torque specs for the flywheel and pressure plate?.
Thanks in advance

congrats. I have the fidensa flywheel, and the spec clutch, I didn't have to balance the assembly at all. the flywheel is already balanced from the factory (pretty sure about that) and i used stock torque specs on all items. enjoy the new parts. You'll love that flywheel, and clutch, which stage clutch did you get?
stage 1, my cars got a 2200 with no major mods so it should last thru most anything i do to the car.
I'm assuming you installed the flywheel and clutch yourself, my thoughts are that i can drop the hubs and leave the shafts attatched to the tranny and lower the whole thing in one big lump, rather than popping the hubs and pull the shafts off.
The chiltons manual is alittle confusing because some of the pictures look like the whole lot will drop right off, others make it look very complicated to do that. So i'm wondering what exactly i need to do to get access to the flywheel?

does anyone know if the 98+ 2200s have a centering pin on the flywheel? all the pics in my chiltons guide are showing a 6 bolt pattern with no pin, as well as centering pins for the clutch....the flywheel doesnt have them, can i pull the ones out of my factory flywheel and reuse them, or do i have to order them or what?
thanks in advance

Well i finally got the whole lot installed, i havent had a chance to flog the car yet, but on my way to my buddies shop i got it up to 50, which in 3rd gear it pull right up to and past 50 so easy, beautiful thing, i should get it back from the shop by tomorrow and i'll let you guys know how everything feels, the flywheel didnt go in so easy it rubbed on the cover plate so the flywheel had to have the bolts back side ground down a tad bit, but other than that it was easy.

finally got my car back, drives beautifully, revs faster in a noticable way but not excessively, pulls really strong in the powerband now, lost alittle torque on the bottomside as it bogs alot easier and the clutch has a very sharp engagment point but after about 100 miles on the car its starting to get less noticable and now that i'm used to it i love it, deffinatly worth the money i spent doing it, anyone wanting to perk their car up stick a lightweight flywheel on, it does wonders for the car

.
