balance shafts

is it good for performance to remove the balance shafts? do u gat any gains? is tere any side effects? and last but not least is all is good how do you take them out?

possible added a turbo in the future on the stock engine 98 2.4 liter.

Well you can't just remove them, there is a TON of work involved. 2.3 Oil pump swap, balance and blueprint, and if you are doing all that, you might as well throw new pistons, rings, rods, bearings, and all the other bottom end stuff you can do.

Gains are about 15-20whp from what I remember.

im more leaning towards boosting it you only live once and have good credit r u boosted? how does it feel if you are. i really want to kick hondas asses with my domestic.

99% of the boosted J's have thier balance shafts, so I wouldn't worry about them.

I'm trying to get boosted, but mother nature isn't cooperating. Every weekend I pick to install my turbo, she rains it out.

i'm removing mine in both my engines. they suck and so does the 2.4 oiling system!
