Not sure if this has be mentioned or done yet. Well, I was messing with my exhaust today and i have not catalytic converter. I do however have a bung hole on my downpipe. I bought a plug and put that in there (antiseeze of course). I left my o2 sensor pluged in but just tied to the heatshield. I NEVER HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON. I had the wide band on before and after and nothing changed. the exhaust temp stayed the same also. I was in disbelief. Im thinking that as long as it doesnt read emissions (straight exhaust fumes) it will be ok. So i called my friend who had an ecotec (stock) and we tried it on that also. Again NO CEL at all. I checked the resistance on the fuel injectors on both cars and there was no difference on either car before and after it was taken out of the bung. But of course if we unplugged it completly from the pigtail whether it was in the pipe or not, the CEL came on.
Has anytone ever tried this?

there wouldnt be any difference with the injectors or anything engine wise even witht he cel on. That 2nd o2 just tells the computer if the cat is working properly or not.
so this would technically work removing the cat right?

^^ i was just checking the injectors to see if it would make the system run rich or so. I was thinking that if the o2 wasnt reading anything, then it might add more or less fuel to the motor. when i had it screwed in and the pigtail pluged in, i got a code that said system running rich and down stream 02 was bad.
