This is probably the wrong forum but i dont know which one to go with but anyways i am going to polish my 95 sunfire valve cover and i was wondering if its better to spary some clear on it after so it keeps the shine?let me kno...thanks.phil

Well after its clean, its wise to spray the exterior side with a high temp Clear Coat. It will stay shiny for months.

months?? if i cover it in clear shouldnt it last for longer?? i was thinking of using dupicolor hi temp engine clear. i was also thinking of just paining it and sanding off the raise fins..then clearing it better idea?? phil

Well then again, it only lasts 6 months for me cause i live near the water. Salt water make many things not last long.

if you wet sand it first working up from 220 grit to 1500 then polish it it will look like chrome. then clear it. that should llast for a good while.
