Hi,
I finally got all the parts needed to make something work for the 2002 Ecotec Cavalier/Sunfire Owners. As you all know the 2002 Ecotec Injectors are different from the 2003-2005 Ecotec Injectors, infact the fuel rail, injectors, and fpr is all different. Well I finally got the parts to make all the 2003-2005 Rail, Lines, Injectors, and FPR to work on a 2002 Ecotec.
Just to clear some things up the 2002 Injectors are longer then the 2003-2005 Injectors. On the newer cars GM Used a spacer between the head and the actual injector to make up the size differance between the tw injectors.
Here is a picture of the spacers which I found. Took about 1 hour of searching on the dealer computer but we finally came up with the part number so I ordered it to make sure its the correct parts needed for the swap.
These are the four spacers which go into the head between the injector and the head it self. With these four spacers you will be able to use the 2003-2005 Fuel System (Rail, Lines, FPR, Injectors) on your 2002 Ecotec Car.
Why would you want to do such a thing? Simple, if your going for boosted application and or in need of bigger injectors with this setup now you can use almost any injectors out there. These would be the same Injectors being used on the 2000-2002 2.4L LD9 Engine and or RC Engineering Injectors as well.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. I am going to try to put some kind of a kit togeather which will include everything so the swap will be very easy to do.
Hope this helps people out.

How much do you think the whole kit might cost?

Invoice left inside the car will bring it in when I get back from Wilwood in a few hours.

Honestly, no clue at all. All depends on how much I can get the parts for and which injectors you would want with the kit.

Matt, I will hit you up later on tonight on AIM if your online and give you all the info on this for your car since you need it.
This could help people with the 2002 cavs and fires who want to get the GM charger. In the pdf it said that "some" 2002 cars could do it. It said something about Delphi fuel injectors. Karo, from your findings, do all 03-05's have Delphis and 02's don't? I am trying to see if my car will accept the supercharger as is, or if I have to change out the fuel rail.

Cool... this is someting that I have been interested in seeing.

If you do the swap over to the 03-05 setup then you will be able to use the charger with no problems from what i can see. Now the only real issue could be hood clearance since the 03-05 have more room under the engine bay. But to answer your questions yes this is what you will need to make the SC kit to work on your car.
Good job Karo. Id not does not help me but a good thing over all.

problem here is you never really answered his question... why does it say "some" how do you tell if yours is one that fits into this "some" catagory??? how can you tell what injectors you have? without obviously pulling the rail and injectors off the car... are they different colors or did they change them a certian month in 2002 or what.... can you plesae help us 02 guys out more than you have already.....
also if we do need these whats the part number... thanks.. hopefully i dont need em but knowing my luck i will how much were they btw?
another thing... i am going to get the supercharger when it comes out will all i have to purchase is the spacers? will the 03-05 injectors clip into the 02 rail? or will i have to upgrade to the 03-05 rail do to the fuel pressure regulator?
something interesting , the car at the bash with the prototype ecotec supercharger was an 03 however it has the 02 fuel rail on it, something tells me its very possible the kits may include an 02 style rail

yea i know but the thing is i heard that the supercharger kit comes with a new fuel pressure regulator that wont fit our rails and has the 2003-2005 short style injectors. we could use the spacers and use the new injectors but there is now way to use the new regulator that comes with the supercharger kit on the 02 rails.... this is if i am understanding this correctly....
I was searching for info regarding the difference between 2002-2003/05 ecotec injectors and found this post but now I got confused. This post is stating that the 2002 injectors are longer than the 2003/05 ones. I found also some info at paceperformace that states the 2002 ecotec injectors are shorter, not longer. At the same time they say that some of the 2002 ecotecs have the 2003/05 style ijectors so please because I get confused now, help me determine which of the injectors type has my car. My car is a 2002 and have the silver type as shown in the comparison of the paceperformace page and seems to be shorter than the 2003/05 style they are showing there. They already have the correct Supercharger kit for both rails but you have to know to which group your car belongs in order to choose the correct kit.
In the following link you can see the 2002 supercharger kit but first you have to determine the injectors type of your car. There is also the comparison pic. Hope some of you could help me on this.
Thanks in advance.

the 02 injectors are shorter than the 03-05 injectors
but the 03-05 moved the fuel rail up higher , and used a longer injector and spacers
ive got pics of the injectors side by side , ill have to dig it up and repost it this weekend
