hey guys for now i just wanted to to do a few things to my 03 ecotec cavy. and wanted ur guys opinion on how much hp gain we woudl be looking at with the mods i might do.
-aem cold air intake
-bigger tb
-headers(i.e dc sports)
-and performance cat back exhaust(i.e magnaflow, or borla) single
-so what do u think would be the total hp gain for all those mods done, just want to get
a little more out of it and would love the sound that setup would make lol. because i want to wait till im done paying for the car before i either set up a super/turbocharger. and too also follow up u know any places to get deals on any of the above pls post, later guys and girls.
lastly if any has a similar setup like this how pleased are u with it?
only real way to tell how much power you get form any kind of mod is to have the car dyno'd before and after

I don't know about hp #s, but I have the RK Sport intake, Pacesetter header, high flow cat and custom cat back along with motor mounts and short shifter....and i can tell you that the car is definitely a lot faster than it was stock. i will find out for sure how much better this Tuesday when i hit the track, but it definitely feels faster. My mods were all done separately, so i got to feel the increase with each individual mod.
some dude on here had a done intake,TB,header,exhaust and gained something like,dont quote me, 15 horsepower. Quite a bit. And it was a all in one package from some company.... i cant rember of who...
ok i know thats hwo u find out is to have it dynod lol, but u can also add it up due to claims by the dyno sheets the companies have like the aem cai gives up 5-8 overall given the environment, so then u figure with all the other mods i listed u can prolly get around 15-20 given the right conditions, so not bad for somehtign that will prolly cost around $1000, if you figure a turbo/supercharger setup for about $2000-3000 gives u about 40-60 gain.
-so topic still open any others with this setup how much are you pleased with the gain and how the car sounds, does it give it that nice sound not a stupid fat $8 muffler sound lol
-also anywhere where u can get deals on any of the mods i listed pls post, and dont say ebay i knwo that one already and they got the aem cai on there

you can do that. but mods like intakes and such were dynod at ideal conditons. i may have gained 7 hp from my intake. but that dont mean you will. every car will be different as far as HP gains and sound

every car is different. talk and speculation is pretty much BS, nothing personal, but really. we dont know if your injector #3 is running less than the other 3, we dont know the altitude you will dyno at... we dont know the condition of your fuel pump.
way to many factors to factor in and thats even before we get to.
and no you cant say
intake equals 6HP
exhaust equals 3HP
TB equals 4 HP
and come up with 13HP.
you dont add HP up like that. you might add an intake that adds 8HP, then add a TB that added 6 on another car, and you might only get a total of 7HP, not the 14 you;d expect.
only on real exact, precise sure way to know. dyno before and after.
and read the FAQ, theres a CRAPLOAD of places that sell parts. thats why it says read before posting, since most of the questions like that are answered in there
