Well building up 2.4 for re-install, but I am stuck. I have a ported/polished head, secret cams, lightened UD pulley, HO manifold, exhaust on the way, but I dont know what compression to use.
I definitely want more than stock (not planning any more forced induction, that didn't go so well...) but do not know how much more.
What would be the advantages and problems of 11.1:1 be over 10.5:1? With over 11:1 compression would the ignition pull timing so far that gains would be minimal?
BTW - I found the problem with my motor, it was knocking because I completely owned cylender one's rod bearing. I will post pics one of these days...
22 miles per gallon and dropping fast...
i think 10.5:1 is high enough. make sure your fuel system is good and your ignition system is good.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
i am building my 2.4 right now and i am doing custom fordged piston through diamond pistons but i am lowering the compression for a turbo to 8:5:1 to run more boost. the pistons cost me alittle over 400 but will be well worth it. they can make ne pistons for ne application according to what u want to do. check it out at your machine shop.
