i have a 1995 sunfire ...i had the 2.2 auto and i changed it for a 2.4 l manuel in 99 but now my engine just died... and i would like to fit a ecotec in it now ... i have the getrag tranny and i would like to know if the eco fits on this tranny or not?!?!

second question i would like to know if all the rest is ok or not ... i mean all the brake systemes colling systeme and everyting!!!

I've been trying to find that out for a while now. The internals are identical. There is only one Getrag transmission, but I'm pretty sure the bell-housing is different. I'm on pins and needles to see if anyone knows the answer to this.

The Eco will not bolt to the 2.4 tranny.

Brake system and cooling system should be the same. Power steering is the same. Transmission mounts are different I believe.

You have the getrag for the 2.4 not the Ecotec. The getrag for the Ecotec has a different bolt patten where is attaches to the engine. So No your current getrag will not work with the Ecotec.

But here's my question- that bolt pattern is just the bell-housing. would it be possible to just swap bellhousings, since the internals are identical?
