Oil Pressure install

im in the process of ordering oil pressure and oil temp gauges, just wondering would i be better off getting electronic or mechanical? mechanical is easy enough to understand how to hook up, but how would i install an electrical one? 99 2200 s/f btw

i prefer electric simply because if the tube with the oil (on some guages) ever comes undone in your car, thats a decent amount of psi of hot oil spraying in there.

electrics use sending units, similar to how the stock one works... oil stays in the engine.

wire transmits the pulses/resistance and the guage reads from that. like your engine coolant temp sensor.

coolant stays in the hoses and pipes, sensor reads from insertion in the pipes.

i perfer gauges that have a wide sweep , auto meterhas electic gauge with the wide sweep


the wider the sweep the more accurat they tend to be
