hey this weekend im going to pickup a 2.4 head from a local junkyard and then send it somewhere to get it port and polished, since today is memorial day nobodys open to call for pricing so what do you think the prices for getting the head port and polished would be and how much hp will this increase, i was told 10 but is that correct? thanks

the amount of power you get depends on EVERYTHING ELSE done to it, how much material is removed, how agressive the valves angles are ground. what are your cams gonna be, etc...
theres no way to estimate a gain on something you dont even know if the job they will do will be better or worse.
someone can take away enough material to where you flow more cfm, but lose alot of velocity, and you can actually lose HP.
prices are300-800$
depends on if you go local or ship it out.

and the gain in HP varies on the product and the car....

I will port and polish a head for $350.
The valves...I can have the valve job done for $150, or you can have that done locally.
So $500 for a fully functional head plus you pay shipping charges. That is my price. Lots of work in porting a polishing a head.
Might give you an idea.
