ok guys my friend is a mechanic and he told me that since i have to the two motor mounts upper and lower that i would have to invest in a performance motor mount for the transmition as well. he said that since the engine is not rocking the stress is going into the transmition mount which is still stock and it might crack. Is this so... and where are some places that sell this transmition mount......yah ive searched berfore u tell me....I have a 2200 auto with injen intake obx header magnaflow cat borla catback and the upper and lower mounts for karo.....input appreciated thanks fellas...
you cant crack the transmission mount......its rubber....
theres no upgrades, however you CAN fill one with urethane and its the same EXACT thing as the insert. done it on mine, and low fire bought my other mount.
but thats FALSE on it cracking.... its steel and rubber.
yup they are right. i have had both solid mounts for a while now... and i'm not having any problems, nor are anyone else on this site.

shifted said theres been no problems without em
def not a need, but def an improvement
Event: How do you fill it witrh urethane?? Hard to do? Possible to do by only crunching under the car??
Thanks!!
Thanks,
G
i believe you have to get the mount out by itself and just to away at it with the compound.

i;d say possible if you dont drive for a day or two... more so two days
and also you;d have to be a near contortionist.
the easiest way is to get a spare mount and fill it to be honest. thats the easiest to do with the least downtime.
spotabee has it down
I installed my mounts engine and trans. After about 1 month, it was time for a tune up. As I am replacing my plug wires, I noticed my exhaust manifold bolts.
The top right one had disappeared, 3 others were finger lose, & the bolt below the missing one was 1/2 way unscrewed. I had never touched the bolts ever. I think that they might have loosened from the vibrations. Other than that no problems.
I just tightened them up no problems now after another month.
Ok here is my experience with it:
i got the motor mounts about 2 year ago and beat the hell outa the car form this time. Track use and street use. Last month i got the Prothane transmission mount to replace the old ones. I tought that the tranny was rocking too much for the motor that dont move anymore. So i change the big mount and the rear one was completely destroyed. Normally you have to use an arbor press to remove the old insert but i only push it out with 2 fingers.
Now that these insert are new, the car is a little less sloppy than it was with the broken insert (wich i didnt knew).
I would recommend to get the tranny mount if you have the motor mounts. I don't think that it would cause a lot of dammage but for the best efficiency get both.
to get the complete kit ask Karo@carcustoms.net and at the same time i recommend to get the Urethane control arm bushing.
Good luck!

manual tranny mounts are way different from AUTO mounts
check the first post... auto mounts arent made. you have to modify the mount yourself.
