Testing Waters: 2.4 Phenolic Spacer Flange

There has been an interest in these and I would like to know who would actually be interested. What it would be is either 1/2 inch Phenolic material (Less heat transfering than metal) or thinner depending on clearence issues and such, and it would be a straight 2.4 flange.

I would like to know who is a SERIOUS to be buyer. I got a lot of interest from my adaptor flanges (About 25 people) and only have like 8 sold to date, I dont want to loose lots of money just to help people out. The price will probably be about the same, around 50-60$. I just need to know who is actually interested so I can talk it over with the machine shop and try and keep the price down.

Anyone interested in this, also add input onto what it should be. Let me know clearence issues with turbo/SCs and such.

Thanks
Chris

What is it? Seriously, I have no idea what you're talking about. And I'd like to know, as I'm researching the SC right now.

What I am trying to do is have a flange made. The flange will go in between the intake ports on the head and the intake manifold. The reason being for a smoother longer runner for better flow and since the flange will be made of Phenolic, less heat transfer. The heat transfer is critical because you want to keep the intake plenum as cool as possible for the best combustion, not to mention prevent detonation.

Does that help?

Thanks
Chris

yes, thanks for the explanation. Makes sense. BTW, I'm probably going to buy an adapter from the other thread.

Yo Chris,
I've been wanting that since the announcement of the conversion flange.

And honestly I'd rather have that than the conversion, but I'm sending mone for it since I put my name on the list.

1/2" thick i fine. Aluminm or phelonic (sp?) either way is cool.
