alright i read the faq and there was a detailed walk through for a 95-99 cavy to the new ecotec motor and there were numerouse diffrent things to it, but i noticed on the walkthrough that it said 00-02 were pretty much the same if not wernt as far off, well now heres my delema, i have a 2.2 ecotech motor w/ 5 spd tranny, shifter assembly, pedal assembly, and the engin computer (ECU), i am doing the swap with my step dad (who is mechanicly inclined and has done swaps on his toyota truck).
my question is, wut all else is needed for the swap? i think i pretty much have all the base stuff, but then on the walkthrough i seen things like taking the interior completly apart from the front to back and taking the wiring out.......that part i dont get. i know ill still need a new center console being i have one for a automatic tranny now. other then that though i have no idea what is needed
is there any special things i need for the motor itself to fit? ive heard diffrent things from diffrent people, some saying that you can switch it strait through and in other peoples opinions you need new mounts or something.
well thanks for reading hope that someone expierianced can help me out with this one
The motor mounts and a manual center console. After that, I think you have everything for the swap.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

If your order aftermarket ones, lower mounts yes, they fit all 3rd gens, upper mounts no it's ECOTEC specific.
