This is mainly for the boosted and n20 guys, but i guess even some all motor guys can help out. What octane rating do you use? I know when you're runnin F/I or n2o everyone says "use premium". Down in here El Paso, premium is 91, and (if i remember correctly) some other states offer 93 as premium. Here we have a few daily driven 400-500 hp cars and i'm still kinda curious how they get away with it on 91, cuz i'm pretty sure they wouldn't be payin for race gas on a regular basis. And from what i've heard, all those octane boosters are crap. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
i use the 93 when i want to race using my nitrous.

sunoco 94 octaine works the best!

use it all the time its the cleanest most efficent gas out there i belive, shell is garbage reuins some stuff in your gas internal componunts
on the street i use 89. but i dont use my nitrous on the street

I'm n/a and I use all of them, but my cars runs best on 93. I have cams, and most bolts on you can have. before cams I used 87 it ran fine, but after the cams it is smoother with 93. With gas prices like they are I have been getting 89. As for high horsepower and 91, well if it is tuned right it can be done. You could set a car up to run on 87 and make great power. it is all in the tuning.

there's no set rule for octane, other than a graph i have which varies on compression ratio and boost level. each octane level is curved. check out Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. Best book ever. It shows what octane level is optimum for best performance based on your compression ratio and psi level.

Your comment with no set rule for octane, is soo true. thats why my car runs better with higher octane. When others might not.
