if you have a 2200 with the maf is it possible to remove it and say for example put a weapon r intake hook it up to the throttle body is that possible, i seen it on a sunfire i have a cav same motor basically, and where do i get that type of intake?
the MAF???
we have a MAP sensor but thats on the black intake manifold.
we dont have a MAF or mass air flow sensor really.
have you looked at your car lately?
or do you mean the IAT sensor. if so, then you redrill a hole into the intake if it doesnt have one, and reinsert it into the tube...
page 2 of the FAQ near the bottom, theres a giant diagram you cant miss...
yea the black box says 2200 sfi on the top of the engine, ive seen it removed and the intake was a weapon r connected directly to the throttle body on a sunfire, i currently have a ram connected to mass air flow or the map what ever its called/....is it possibel to do it or where do i find an intake for it
The black box is called the Air Expansion Box, the MAP is a sensor connected to the intake manifold (not to be confused with the intake or the air expansion box). You shouldn't need to touch or move the MAP when connecting an aftermarket intake, but you may have to remove the air expansion box. This is fine.

exactly, adding an intake is no where NEAR the MAP sensor...
there isnt a MAF sensor on these cars. just buy or make an intake that goes to the TB...
the FAQ has links on how to do this. top of the forum.

For those that will want to make their own, save money and get pretty much the same performance. These sites will help.

most of these are for a 2200 2.2 which can be done on a 95-97 2.2 as well, but if you have a 2.4, or 2.3 or ecotec, its really the same process, you just need to substitute different parts. Use the imagination. It’s a really easy job to do.
For those that will want to buy and intake, there are a few JBO locals and companies to check out.
Don’t get mad Chris, putting your registry/name out there.
http://www.j-body.org/members/agentomega/ he has produced some for the 2200. email him for other cars. They are of decent quality and a reasonably low price. Same as ToBoyz intakes.

i know, but heres a small tip... if someone gives you a bunch of sites... before writting them off saying there is no info there..... do YOURSELF a favor and look around on the site. sites change or are updated. its not gonna hurt right?
as for weapon R.... like said, all the links in the FAQ, which i have now also posted here, are places to buy one.....
above you said they didnt work, i clicked on each one, and all the sites that are listed as companies and end in DOT COM are places to buy em from.
new or not, you can atleast do more than just click a link and look aroudn a bit, instead of saying info isnt there right off the bat
